No camera directly films the Estacade. The Santocha webcam, installed a few hundred metres to the north on Plage des Océanides, offers the best view of swell and wind conditions near the pier.

The Capbreton Estacade: an iconic landmark
The Capbreton Estacade is a 189-metre wooden pier stretching into the Atlantic Ocean. Classified as a historic monument, it marks the harbour entrance and offers an exceptional viewpoint over the coastline, the Capbreton canyon and the surfers.
On the north side, Santocha beach extends towards the Océanides — this is where our surf lessons take place. The spot right at the foot of the Estacade can produce beautiful waves, but channel currents make it technical and reserved for advanced surfers.
The Estacade is also an excellent observation point to assess wave size before paddling out. Combine this with the Santocha webcam and Windguru forecasts.
What to see from the Estacade?
North side
Santocha beach and the Océanides, with surfers and swimmers. This is where our surf lessons take place.
South side
Notre-Dame beach, the Capbreton seafront and the coast towards Labenne and the Basque Country.
Out to sea
The mouth of the Capbreton canyon, this underwater gorge plunging 4,000 m deep starting just 200 m from shore.
The channel
The entrance to Capbreton harbour and the comings and goings of fishing boats. Beware of strong currents in this area.

Can you surf near the Estacade?
Yes, there is a surf spot north of the Estacade, at the start of Santocha beach. Waves are influenced by the pier and channel, creating particular conditions. Beware of currents near the channel — this spot is reserved for experienced surfers.
Is there a dedicated webcam for the Estacade?
There is no dedicated webcam for the Estacade. The nearest webcam is at Santocha, located on Plage des Océanides a few hundred metres to the north. It gives a good indication of overall conditions.
