Progress with video coaching
Surf coaching is for autonomous surfers of all ages and levels, from intermediates to competitors, who want to accelerate their progress. Sessions take place on the Plage des Océanides in Capbreton or at the best spots along the Landes coast depending on conditions. The room for improvement is infinite, and most surfers never see themselves surf — video coaching solves this problem.

Philippe Malvaux
Philippe Malvaux is one of the most renowned surf coaches in France and internationally. With over 25 years of experience at the highest level, he has coached World Tour athletes including John John Florence, Julian Wilson, Filipe Toledo and Carissa Moore.
Former Team Manager at Nike and Hurley, coach at the French National Surf Academy, technical coach for Kanoa Igarashi (Olympic medallist) and WSL judge, Philippe is a passionate expert who shares his vision of surfing with the Loulou Surf School instructors. His approach — technical rigour, video analysis and encouragement — is reflected in each of our coaching sessions.

Une école de surf super sympa avec des moniteurs bienveillants et très professionnels. Tous sont à l'écoute des clients de tous âges et toutes nationalités.
Équipe et emplacement au top. Cours en petits groupes, les moniteurs sont avec nous dans l'eau pour nous observer et nous faire progresser.

Frequently asked questions
How does coaching differ from regular lessons?
Coaching is for surfers who already master the basics and want to progress technically. Video analysis allows you to visualise your movements and correct details invisible to the naked eye during the session.
How does video analysis work?
Your coach films you during the session from the beach. After the session, you watch the videos together in slow motion to identify areas for improvement and define corrective exercises.
Is the 5-day camp suitable for intermediate surfers?
The 5-day camp is designed for intermediate to advanced surfers who want intensive work. 6 hours of practice per day with daily analysis for significant progress in one week.
Can I do a coaching session as a duo?
Yes, private coaching accommodates 1 to 2 people at 100 EUR per person. For groups of 3 to 5 people, the rate is 75 EUR per person.
New to surfing? Start with our surf lessons in Capbreton, private or group. After your session, extend the fun with equipment rental for free surfing.
